Not too much news...

We have been busy making decisions on our new addition, preparing for a quilt retreat where I get to peddle my wool and keeping up with the girls schedules of wook, school and dance practice. Mark has been building more displays for new clients (He and Dean are manufacturing Lip Balm, another post at a later date) and so goes the life around deer hollow.

We enjoyed a visit from Jake, Lindsey & Molly this weekend.  Little Molly has just recovered from pnemonia so we were all happy to spend some time with her.  Her mom and dad got to enjoy a lovely dinner out while we tended her.

I have links to my business blog and the photo-a-day I am doing this year on the side bar.
The photo a day has been much more fun than I thought it would. It's a neat way to "journal" your year with everyday happenings.

This week we are especially missing our kids and grandchildren who live far away.

Living on great memories today... xoxo

Oh, and this morning there was a prize in my cereal!
Thanks Molly, I was wondering where that bracelet went :)

What makes something worthwhile?

Worthwhile: Sufficiently valuable or important to be worth one’s time, effort or interest.

I've been thinking about this for awhile. What do you think?
Maybe something is worthwhile if:
we are learning from it
we are serving someone
we are teaching someone
we are feeding our soul
we are making a living doing it

It still makes me wonder if I am using my time
to make the most of every minute.

Something Magical and Happy About Today

1.11.11 = love
We had posted a bit about this here
Even tought today isn't 11.11 - it's a close second to our favorite date and
set of numbers. We have begun dreaming a bit about the date in November.
hmmmm wonder what we will do....
Hope you had some magic and lots of love in your day today.

A cute friend called to ask if I could meet her at the antique store at 2:00.
She thought there were some buttons I would love there. So we met up and
had a great time poking around. The buttons looked great!

As we were checking out and gabbing with the owner about keeping his eye out for a dress form - I spotted these adorable little wooden dolls! I asked him what their story was and when the words "they are from Poland" came spilling out of his mouth I knew they would be coming home with me!! They are precious! From what I could quickly deduce from my research on line - they are wooden peg dolls with hand painted faces from my homeland (1/4 anyway) Poland! circa 1950.

Meet Henryk and Zofia!

They seem to have many stories to tell...just wish I knew them, too!

Their little red shoes are perfect and I love the little brother -
he is dressed like a little sailor. My peeps come from a little
town near the sea.

Zofia and Henryk...Welcome Home!
I think you will be happy here.

Tonight Mark insisted on taking us out to dinner for 1.11.11
We opted for Callaways ~ one of our favs! Its story is great.
What was once a little car repair garage is now one of the finest
Italian Restaurants around! They have opened up a location in Park City
that serves Breakfast & Dinner. It was a wonderful meal and we enjoyed
our time with cute Em...our baby.

Note the icicles...it was nearly 8 degrees tonight! Yippee!

Best breadsticks...

Happy 1.11.11 !!

A New Year!

One year old and full of wonder...love...energy...and joy.
Little Molly turned one and celebrated her golden birthday on
1-1-11
How fast the time goes. She is charging around the house
now keeping her parents on their toes. She is a delight to watch dance and
has so much love to share with everyone. We love her dearly.
Happy Birthday little one...even though you weren't sure about the
birthday hat or making a mess with your birthday cake. You have
a new baby doll to love and miles to cover this coming year! And Molly,
you couldn't have dreamed of better parents. xo
