We are over the moon with this beautiful table. Mark did such a fantastic job building this. We love having it in our home. It is from the same wood he used to build the hutch, our neighbor's Walnut Tree. The pictures don't do it justice.
The wood grain is exquisite. The finish is a nice rub of Danish Oil.
Sweet dove-tailed drawers...
And ...he is in the process of hand carving six beehives
to go on the face-fronts of the drawers -
His cool way of representing our six children.
We'll keep him around!
You can see how different the walnut looks before it is sanded and
has its nice little rub down with the oil.
We treasure it!!

that is AWESOME. sorry I didn't help with it more. i really regret that.
Dani is awestruck and oowing and wowing.
Liam tried calling you to tell you that he went poopy (which is now the most frequently said word in our house by all three of us-- did we tell you that he scribbles circles and tells me that "dat's poopy"?), but nobody answered. so we'll tell you instead- no diaper changes for us today.
He consistently is inserting Papa into all the stories we tell him. And he walks around kazooing and harmonicaing, only stopping to breath and sigh "Ah Papa" before he continues on.
He misses Nana too. We have a book with a picture of a mom and son hugging and he always points to it and says "My Nana". We'll send a picture. Miss you guys
Oh,my goodness you lucky thing! I can't even imagine doing something like that. I especially like the beehives...what a sweet touch. I still want to make one of your carved mirrors!
That is gorgeous. What talent oozes from that house!
if you awake one morning to find it missing, know it's on it's way to a new home in oregon.
xo
Papa Smurf is nothing short of amazing...what a great talent he has!
Let me know when you start mass production! Very nice doesn't even begin to describe the beauty!
LOVE IT!! Ditto to all the other comments! You guys are amazing!
Mark has a real talent with wood-working (among many other talents). I love the fish he carved for me several years ago.
Good job!!
Wow...that is really neat!
Incredible, Mark! What can't you do? You are a craftsman and an artisan...
