I just got back from a fabulous color workshop hosted by Bennett's Paint and presented by Fawn Chang from Porter Paints. You can read a little bit about her here. I just couldn't take notes quick enough. It was so interesting to listen to her teach us about design and color and space. One of my favorite quotes was:
"Beauty and color are as necessary as water, air and light. By loving your spaces you become a force for positive change in our world." ~Fawn Chang
I also love this new phrase:
Kalos Kagothos ~ "Triumph of meaningful beauty"
... a beautiful object or a person of admirable character
And if you haven't heard :) the color of the year is.....
The official report was released to the media on December 9. In it, Pantone Color Institute Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman says, "In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color, that gets the adrenaline going- perfect to ward off the blues."
The hue's uplifting effect is attributed to the fact that its mother color is red, the most "physical, viscerally alive hue int he spectrum." It is a stark contrast to last year's color fo the year- cool, serene turquoise "While the 2010 color of the year, Pantone 15-5519 Turquoise, served as an escape for many, Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor," said Eiseman
I have added a few new photos of the progress of our room. I came home with the most beautiful paint chip sample card and I can hardly wait to start creating new wool colors. I think I better figure out a formula for the color of the year too! *Keep your eye over here for updates* Honeysuckle. It's sweet. Hope your week is going great! xo
