This fall we stole Emily away for a few nights to our favorite place!
We stumbled upon a new bakery - Persophone Bakery
It was a great place to visit with eye candy everywhere
Even in the bathroom ;)
And delicious f o o d !!
We especially loved the Homemade S'mores!
and the pastries...
We love everything about our jaunts to Jackson...the drive is a blast..
and thinking about Davis and how much he loved the mountains.
searching for that perfect cup of hot cocoa...
have I mentioned the food?!!
We love it all!!
We drove out to watch the sunset on the eve of the day we lost Davis 3 years ago now. I like to think this giant puddle was a smile from him reminding us to carry on and be happy.
I love my family so much!
And Davis is very near.
An afternoon to hike
a little Pano fun!
The colors were past their peak, but still really pretty vistas. The snow is gorgeous on the Tetons!
Colter Bay is breathtaking and so quiet and still.
We were the only ones on the entire lake.
Pretty lucky for us and so nice for a picnic.
and for our evening pleasure... The Float!
We have made this float countless times and might be our favorite part of our trips up to Tetons.
I sketched while Em and Mark drove the suburban down to the take out point and hitch hiked a ride back up to the dam.
The water out by the bend was the lowest we have ever seen it.
We were concerned that we would be stuck in the muck for hours!
But we persisted and made it around the bend to smooth sailing.
The water was still and full of the most gorgeous reflections the entire float!
What a glorious world we are blessed to live in and enjoy.
We worked up an appetite and enjoyed dinner at Bon Appe Thai
And a perfect ending to a beautiful trip - breakfast the next morning at the restaurant next to
our new favorite bakery.... can't remember the name, but it was perfect.
