So...how's the weather?

Posted by Picasa
So how is the weather in your neck of the woods? We have been getting such a variety within a 24 hour period it is really hard to know what season we are in. Hoping for sunshine and warming breezes soon! We have lots of planting to do. The yard is really greening up.

Mark is doing better day by day with his foot rehab. The girls are antsy to finish up this year of school. Davis is still searching for a job. I have one last final to take this week.

This weekend we get to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of my parents! What a legacy they are to our family. Are they not the cutest couple ever?? Time to bake a cake and a swarm of cupcakes :)

Nesting

This sweet little Mama Robin has built her nest at the top of my
neighbors front door. She is carefully guarding her eggs.
Usually nests are so far up in a tree - you never really get a good look.
I loved seeing her perched in her little nest!

I have had some troubles uploading again - so for now
I had to do this in many posts.
Enjoy the sweet photos of this little dolly.
We love her more than words can say.

Liam is a big brother!

On May 4, 2010 a sweet little girl joined our family. We have a new grand daughter! It was very exciting. Soon after they arrived at the hospial Brady began posting the progress of Danielle and the baby Rainey (as Liam has nick-named her). We would get a few phone calls here and there. Technology is such a blessing when you are far from where you would like to be! Papa commented his prediction on one of the posts:
Papa has his predictions for you -

videos taking forever to load, but will be here soon.

We finally settled on a name for our little beauty! We took forever to name Liam too, and in both cases we ended up going with the one we started with from the beginning.

We love the name in and of itself, but both Elsie and Maren have significance that makes us love it even more.

Elsie is a short form of Elizabeth, which is a family name with long histories on both our sides. She's also named after her mom (Dani-ELLE L) and her grandma Leisa. The name means "God's promise".

Elsie was born on Grandma Marilyn's birthday! Maren is our way of giving her Grandma's name and a reminder of her exceptional roots. It also happens to be a family name on Brady's side from way back in Denmark (bonus points for Viking ties!) and means 'of the sea' It also happens to have a close tie to Mark.

Most of all, we think her name fits her best of the many we've been thinking on. We love you Elsie!

Well, Papa was right on the ounces - and close to the time, but it was hard to guess a weight by looking at photos of Dani. Little Elsie is soooo tiny! We can NOT wait to hold her in our arms! What a blessing to have this new little child in our family. I loved listening on the phone as she came into the world. Brady called us and sat the phone on the bedside table so we could hear her first cries. What a thoughtful gift.
