Mark's Latest Creation

We are over the moon with this beautiful table.  Mark did such a fantastic job building this.  We love having it in our home.  It is from the same wood he used to build the hutch, our neighbor's Walnut Tree.  The pictures don't do it justice.

The wood grain is exquisite. The finish is a nice rub of Danish Oil.

Sweet dove-tailed drawers...
And ...he is in the process of hand carving six beehives
to go on the face-fronts of the drawers -
His cool way of representing our six children.
We'll keep him around!

You can see how different the walnut looks before it is sanded and
has its nice little rub down with the oil.

We treasure it!!

Little Ones are Precious!

My cute children gave me the sweetest jewelry box for Christmas and a few days ago, I finally had a minute to start gathering up all my jewelry so I could organize it in this great box.  When I opened it up, there were all the tiny, little items Liam had been storing inside.  (Grandma will get your little wooden marbles mailed off to you today!) He has left his tracks all over the house for us to remember him, and we are very grateful for them.  I still haven't dusted off his little paw prints on the DVD/Stereo unit.

And...while we are in the sappy grandparent mode, this is what Mark found in the paper this morning.  Thank heavens for technology so we can keep up with his life.  Our family is our greatest blessing.

Sunset from our porch

We have had some dramatic sunsets the past few days.
We sure live in a beautiful world, don't we?  Our view from the
front porch is through the trees, but still very pretty.

Our Friends the Deer

When Liam was visiting for the holidays, he loved watching the deer in our yard.  This post is for you, buddy.  If I get some time in the next day or two I will upload some video for you to watch.  We didn't get around to empyting out all our flower pots this past fall - they make a nice snack for our friends.  (If you double click this one, you can see the little guys tongue on the right)

The trampoline was taken down Saturday, finally, along with the Christmas decorations.  But the deer love the grass under neath, espcially the little ones.  Below, they took off when they heard the shutter of the camera.

Happy 2009 !

We certainly wish everyone a very Happy New Year!  We celebrated with the Jacklin Family who made the long trek up from Payson!  It was a great night.  The adults + Miss Camber snuck off to Hamiltons before Lindsey & Jake joined his family.  Tasty dinner.  The boys went to the Aggie Game, but there was plenty of night left for hot tubbing, game playing, food & fun like only families can dream up!  Our family has definately had its share of highs and low this past year.  We have laughed and cried and learned a lot together ~ and made many wonderful memories.
We wish you and your family a very

HAPPY
HEALTHY &
SUCCESSFUL
NEW YEAR!

We hope our paths have the good fortune of crossing!

 May 2009 be very FINE!
