Back to Warsaw

After leaving the Podlaskie region where our new found family is, we were able to have a quick tour of Warsaw before we boarded the night train to Prague.  Our hearts are so sad as you see begin to visualize what exactly took place in this country during the second world war.  Danuta also shared what it was like to live here before and after Communist rule.  The number of lives lost and lives affected is incomprehensible.

Palace on the Water at Lazienki.

Our cute mom!  And the peacock below is not photoshopped! Danuta ordered it in special for us!

The theater has water between the stage and the seating area.  Beautiful!

Happy Mark!  We have fallen in love with Poland!!
 Outside of Old Town.

Below a man that had some beautiful wood carving pieces for sale.

Walls around old town - partially destroyed but rebuilt.

Old Town Square.  The rain didn't keep us in one little bit!

Above is a monument to all the children who fought in the war.
Below is a monument to the soldiers in the Uprising who came up from the sewers to defend and fight for their city.

Contrast of the new and old.  This is near the train station.  They say the best view of Warsaw
Below is the Mall across form the station where we killed a little time and enjoyed our Lody!
(Ice cream)

Next stop, Prague.
